We changed how Google Analytics starts on this website. For visitors our hosting provider identifies as located in the United States, basic measurement is now on by default. Outside the United States, or when location cannot be confirmed, it stays off unless you turn it on. If you previously saved a choice to turn analytics off in this browser and it is still stored, that choice is respected. A Global Privacy Control signal keeps analytics off. Details are in the Google Analytics section below.

Information you provide

Orders and checkout. Shopify provides our cart, checkout and order system. Checkout collects the contact, delivery, billing and payment information needed for your purchase, along with the items and quantities ordered. Shopify and its payment providers process payment information. We receive order information needed to fulfill your purchase and provide support.

Wholesale inquiries and other messages. If you send a wholesale inquiry, we receive the contact and business information you provide, including your name, business name, email address, city or location, business type and message. If you email us about an order or another question, we receive your email address and the information in your message.

We use this information to respond to you, discuss wholesale opportunities, process and fulfill orders, resolve order issues and maintain the related business records.

Information used to run the website

The website and its service providers receive technical information needed to deliver pages, operate the cart and checkout, and protect their services. This can include your IP address, browser or device information and requests made to their systems.

A functional cookie remembers your shopping cart. If you make a Google Analytics choice, your browser stores it so we can remember it when you return. These functions work independently of Google Analytics.

Google Analytics

For visitors our hosting provider identifies as located in the United States, this website uses basic Google Analytics measurement by default. For visitors outside the United States, or when location cannot be confirmed, Google Analytics stays off unless you turn it on. We use only this coarse country-level result from our host to choose the default; we do not store it or send it to Google ourselves. If our host does not pass that result to the site directly, your browser may ask our host's own network edge for it; we ignore every other detail in that response.

You can turn Google Analytics on or off at any time using Google Analytics privacy choices in the footer. Your choice applies to the browser you are using. When browser storage is available, we remember your choice for later visits, including choices saved before this update. If storage is unavailable, your choice applies to the current visit. Shopping works either way.

When Google Analytics is on, Google receives information about your browser, device and visits, including cookie-based identifiers. We use it to understand page views, entries from our restaurant QR links and clicks on stockist links. A QR source identifies the assigned link, not who you are or proof of your physical location.

Our custom analytics events use known page addresses, coded restaurant and stockist IDs, and click types. We do not send names, email addresses, inquiry messages, shipping addresses, payment information or order details in those custom events. Advertising storage, ad personalization and Google signals are disabled in this website's analytics setup.

Turning analytics off stops further Google Analytics collection by this website and removes the Google Analytics cookies it can access. This choice controls only this website's Google Analytics setup. Declining Google Analytics does not opt you out of sharing with Shopify or Shopify's enhanced services.

Providers and other recipients

We use providers for website hosting and delivery, cart and checkout services, payment processing, email delivery and our business inbox, and shipping orders. Information is shared with the services involved in those activities. Lovable hosts our website frontend; Shopify hosts checkout and provides our commerce and order system.

Wholesale inquiry notifications use Lovable email delivery and our Gmail inbox. Wholesale inquiries are not stored in an application database.

When Google Analytics is on, information is also sent to Google as described above. Shopify and our other service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live, under their own privacy practices.

We may also provide information when required by law.

Shopify Network Intelligence and data-sharing choices

Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled for our store. We share shopping and purchase information with Shopify. Shopify collects this information and combines it with information about your interactions with other merchants and with Shopify to provide enhanced services, including personalization, analytics and advertising.

To make a choice for this store, use Shopify data-sharing choices. This Shopify control is separate from Google Analytics privacy choices on our website. Declining Google Analytics does not opt you out of Shopify data sharing; using Shopify's control does not change your website Google Analytics choice.

Online tracking and browser signals

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, this website keeps Google Analytics off while that signal is present. This website's Google Analytics control does not change your Shopify choices, which are separate and described above; Shopify may independently honor a qualifying Global Privacy Control signal under its own settings. This website does not currently respond to a browser's Do Not Track signal.

Third-party services, including Google when analytics is on and Shopify when you use its services, may collect information about online activity over time and across websites or services under their own privacy practices. The provider links above explain those practices and available choices.

Records and privacy requests

We keep order, inquiry and support records to handle purchases, answer questions and maintain business records. How long information is kept depends on the record, its purpose and applicable requirements. Information held by our providers is also subject to their retention practices.

To ask about reviewing, correcting or deleting information you have provided to us, email backyardstandardfoods@gmail.com. Using the email address associated with your order or inquiry, and including an order number where relevant, helps us locate the record. We may ask for information needed to confirm the request and will explain any records that need to be kept.

Changes to this policy

We will post updates on this page and update the effective date. For a material change to our privacy practices, we will also post a notice on the website explaining the change.
